Misano World Circuit: complete guide for international visitors

9 min read

Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is on the Romagna Riviera, in the province of Rimini. Every year it hosts tens of thousands of international visitors for MotoGP, Superbike, Ducati Weekend and other motorsport events. This guide is for those coming from outside Italy who want to plan their weekend as smoothly as possible.

How to get there from abroad

By plane: the closest airport is Rimini Federico Fellini (RMI), with seasonal flights from many European cities. Alternatives: Bologna (BLQ, ~120 km) and Ancona (AOI, ~80 km).

By car: A14 motorway (Bologna–Taranto), exit Cattolica (San Giovanni – Gabicce Mare). From the toll to the circuit: 10–15 minutes in normal conditions.

By train: Riccione station on the Bologna–Ancona line. Taxi or shuttle from there (~10 min).

Where to stay

Misano Adriatico, Riccione and Rimini offer thousands of accommodation options. For MotoGP and Superbike weekends, book at least 2–3 months in advance — everything fills up completely.

  • Misano Adriatico: most convenient, minutes from the circuit
  • Riccione: more choice, good connections
  • Rimini: further away but wide selection and variable prices

Parking

If you're arriving by car or motorbike from abroad, booking your parking in advance is essential. Parcheggio Custodito Maia is 100 metres from the main entrance — the closest option available. Book via WhatsApp, pay cash on arrival.

  • Car: €20–30/day depending on event
  • Motorbike: €10–15/day, dedicated area with 20 spots a day
  • Motorhome: on request via WhatsApp

At the event

The circuit generally opens at 8:00–9:00 AM. Bring water, sunscreen and a hat — especially in June, July and September temperatures are high. The paddock is often accessible on Friday and Saturday.

Useful Italian words

  • Parcheggio = car park / parking
  • Ingresso = entrance
  • Tribuna = grandstand
  • Contanti = cash

The weather

June–July: hot and sunny, 28–35°C. September (MotoGP): still warm but more temperate, possible afternoon showers. Always bring a light waterproof jacket if riding.

Book your spot — 100 metres from the entrance.
